I was thrilled today when I had my first flybaby moment.
I was helping Seth and Adam pack their backpacks for school this morning when Joel calls me on the cell (he had just left the house) and notified me that Josh, the pest control guy just drove up. I forgot he was coming today and why so early in the morning!? My old self would have panicked completely while yelling at the kids like a madwoman to start picking up the house. Usually I have to tell them to only spray the outside because I'm way too embarrassed for them to see the inside. The bedrooms and bathrooms are always so disgusting. It was only 7:30 am so I hadn't completed my "swish and swipe" task but they were so clean from the day before and looked so nice. Also, I made my bed right away this morning and I had the boys thoroughly clean their room before stepping down the stairs. It was a disaster last night but we were up too late watching Adam's baseball game. (He had two great hits by the way)
Well, with a huge smile on my face, I calmly let Josh in and told him he could spray the ENTIRE house! I felt so great about myself! I am slowly learning new routines and sticking to them. I really hope it lasts! The house still has a long way to go but I feel like I'm accomplishing something good for my family.

Yay for you! The Fly Lady is the closest thing I've ever seen to my personal rules and schedule - she is great!
