To The Ones We Love

Some of you out there know that I detest keeping a blog. I'm not good at it and I don't really enjoy it, but I feel strongly that I should do it for the kids and their grandparents. And since their grandparents are the only ones who really read this I decided to post something personal. I asked Joel to write some "love letters" to the kids on Valentines Day and they really loved them. We had a special FHE on love and Joel told them about our courtship and how we met and then we gave them each a special letter. They really loved hearing about our story and laughed and laughed and then Morgan kept asking about all the times we kissed. Go figure.

So here are our letters.....

Seth,

Happy Valentine's Day! You are a incredible boy. From the moment you were born you have never ceased to amaze us. You were the perfect baby. People in our wards, who did not have children, wanted children after holding you. You love everyone and seemed to have no fear of people. If someone wanted to hold you, you would let them and would be perfectly content. Aunt Candy and Uncle Bob loved you. When Adam came around you were a perfect big brother. I remember one time we were at a school field trip and I was helping to chaperon, when a parent came up to me and asked, "How does your son do that?" I responded, "Do what?" She answered, "He is so nice to his little brother. He makes sure that he is taken are of and that he is safe, even before he plays with is friends. I wish my two boys would do that."

You are also a wonderful brother to your sister Morgan. You loved to hold her and it made you very upset that when she was little she preferred Adam to you because you were at school all day long. I love how you are willing to try your best no matter how difficult the situation. You are a good student, a good piano player and a good athlete. You are good friend.

I want you to know how proud we are of you. We could not ask for a better son. We love you!
Mom and Dad

Adam,

You have always been a miracle from the moment you were born. Everything about you is perfect. I know that you were sent because your daddy needed a buddy. When you were little you were the most mischievous little boy ever. You drew on walls with make-up. You poured expensive make-up down the drain. You made messes faster than we could pick them up. But, no matter how bad you were that day, you always made up for it by your never ending hugs and all the times you wanted to cuddle. You preferred our bed to yours.

I love how you cuddle Lilly everywhere you go. You can tell you love Lilly. You are also a great artist and a wonderful writer. We love your stories. You are also a great football player. You are able to make amazing catches.

When you were four years old, you taught yourself how to ride a bike. I am so amazed by that event. I remember how shocked I was that you needed no help After you did this amazing thing, you put your bike down and looked at me like it was no big deal. Not only had you taught yourself how to ride, you did it at a very young age. This describes you perfectly. If you want to do something, you can do things often better and faster than anyone else.

What we love most about you Adam is how you love hugs and cuddles. We hope you never outgrow wanting to give and receive hugs. We love you!

Mom and Dad

Morgan,

Happy Valentines Day! When we drove to the doctor fort he ultrasound and Mommy found out she was having a little girl, she was so excited. And you are a little girl in every sense of the word. You love dresses, jewelry and make-up. What scares me the most is that you will also love shopping! You make our family complete. You have two stinky brothers and we now have our sweet little girl.

When you were a little girl, your hair grew in very slow. You looked so funny because your hair stood up straight in the air! Now you have beautiful blonde hair to go with your hazel eyes.

You also have the most nick-names of any girl in the world. You are a loopie-lou, a tatta, a choopie-lou, choopie-choo, a choocha, and most importantly you are a PRINCESS!!! You have so many nicknames because you are so pretty that one word cannot describe how beautiful you are.

You are such a wonderful piano player. You are very smart. You are going to do so well in kindergarten. You love to cuddle. And you love any bed as long as it is not your own. Mom was so lonely with all boys and no girls. Now she has her little angel that she can play with and put dresses and make-up on.

We love you,
Mom and Dad

Officially Desperate

A huge THANK YOU goes to Brother Floyd Wells. We decided to beg for help with Seth's pinewood derby car because we all know Joel doesn't have a lot of extra time this year. Seth had a blast using the blow torch and having an almost completed car in just about an hour. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Two Sisters One Heart

Kathleen and Brig Lamoreaux joined us for a little charity race last Saturday. The guys ran the 10K and the girls ran the 5k. The proceeds went to a cute family with conjoined twins, two little girls who share the same heart. The family even brought them to the race and they were so, so sweet. Well... Kathleen and I didn't realize we were in a competitive mood that day and at the end we realized that we both placed first in the 18-39 year old women's group. We were so proud of ourselves! (Unfortunately the guys didn't place this year....but there's always another race!)

Running Club

Our School has a great program called the "Running Club." The boys run around the school every Tuesday and Thursday and get all their wiggles out before heading home to do their homework. Seth was even a pod leader this year and was a great coach for all the little guys. We had no idea we had some great cross country runners in our family! Seth placed in all three meets, Fourth, First and then Third of all the fourth grade boys! He almost quit during the last meet because of sore muscles, but Dad was cheering him on the entire time! Unfortunately Adam missed the first two meets because of a bad cough but did great during the last meet. We are so proud of our little athletes!!

Our Future Gymnast

Morgan and her sweet friend Ella just finished their tumbling classes together. They can officially do a bridge, monkey kicks, somersaults, back somersaults, handstands, and cartwheels (almost). We love how Morgan adds a little lift to her leg when doing her bridge. Thank you Miss. Andrea!

Merry Christmas!!

Santa was good to us this year.... bikes for everyone, video equipment and lots of Barbies. Thank goodness for Craig's List! I didn't take many great pictures this year so maybe for 2010 Santa can bring Mom a nice digital camera!!!!

Family Hike

We went on a family hike around Christmas time. I can't tell you where we were or which hike, but it was fun!!! I wish our busy schedules allowed for more nature hikes. Grandma and Grandpa Beckstead need to visit more often because we only get around to it when they come down.

Christmas 2009

Our dear friend Brother Winters plays Santa Claus every year. He sits on his sled in front of his house so all the kids in the neighborhood can come and see Santa. This year around Christmas Eve he made a special appearance to our house! He gave the kids a ride around on Santa's amazing golf cart. We are so sad Santa is moving to another neighborhood soon. We will miss him!
