Meeting Stephanie Meyer!

Yes, I'm a twilight fan, thanks to Nysje and Ashlee Bell! I couldn't wait for "The Host" to come out so I could see if I liked it as much as the twilight series. It took me a little while to get into the book but I loved it! As soon as I found out Stephanie Meyer was coming to Tempe I bought two tickets to her signing. I thought it would be fun to meet a "real" author! Plus she seems so "normal." I begged my sister-in-law Julie to fly to Arizona and come with me. We had a blast! The signing was fun but we wished she spoke more during her Q&A session. She spent most of her time signing the books, which I don't blame her. There were hundreds of people there, mostly teen age groupies, but there were plenty of middle aged moms like us. We have to get excited about something once in while, right? She was so nice and great and it was such good fun. The funny thing is that Stephanie Meyer is so pale! No wonder she loves vampires! Once we got up close we could see how beautiful her eyes were too! I was kind of dumbstruck once I approached the table. Hasn't she heard it all anyway? I was silent for ages it seemed and then all I could say was, "loved the Host!." I honestly don't think she even heard me. Julie almost stepped on Stephanie's feet, well actually she just kind of nudged them. We were laughing at ourselves as we left. We spent the rest of the week, going to movies, going out to eat, shopping and getting pedicures. So much fun! I'm not ready to get back to reality! Joel was a great sport and even took a day off to take care of the kids. The rest of the thanks goes to Grandpa for covering the rest of the week for me. Thanks guys!

Hey Shannon! As if you didn't hear/see from me enough as it is! :) I love the description of your sister-in-law and yourself at the book signing---just like silly, giggly, high school girls! One of my other friends went to the book signing in Texas and said that she too kind of froze when she got up to the table and said some dweeby thing. So fun!

Shannon,
This is your long lost companion/friend Hermana Oldham. I am so excited that you have a blog. First, just let me say that you are beautiful! You don't look like you have aged a day since I saw you last and it has been years! I recently started a blog too. http://www.flowofsoul.blogspot.com
Maybe this way we can keep track of each other better. I love you and miss you.

I guess I am late getting started on The Host. Will I totally put off all responsibilities and ignore life the whole weekend, if I start tomorrow!???
