One Great Day
One of the reasons I have a blog is because I like to brag about my kids. Yesterday was one of those days. Adam came home after school as proud as could be because he was given the Kid of Character Award at school. He was called up in front of all the 1st and 2nd graders during an assembly. He was recognized for fairness. Who knew?

Pat's Run 2010
The kids and I participated in the Pat's Run this year. We left the house at 5:45 am and drove to the Sun Devil Stadium. The kids headed to the fun zone while Kathleen and I tried to maneuver ourselves among all the people to start the race. Once we finally made it through the start line it was difficult to pass people without tripping or bumping elbows. It was quite the experience but so much fun! The main run and the kid's run all ended up on the 42 yard line inside the stadium. There were 28,000 runners so it was a miracle we made it out of there with all three children in hand. I'm hoping Seth will be ready to run it with me next year.
Look at those ASU football players checking us out! They were probably so impressed with our awesome running abilities! Actually they were checking out my running buddy Kathleen, the cute blonde with the long legs!
What was the highlight of the day for Seth and Adam?.... Getting autographs from most of the ASU players.

Seth's baseball game
Well, this week, we went back at it. With new confidence and a better mental approach to pitching, we practiced. Seth had a game tonight. He was put in to close out the game in the last inning with his team ahead. His team, the Angels had lost four or five games in a row. I was a nervous parent. Seth calmly took the mound and started throwing strikes. He was also throwing the ball very hard. Harder than I have ever seen him throw in a baseball game. 10 pitches later, 9 for strikes, with 2 strikeouts, and a weak grounder to first base and the Angels were winners again. Seth was all smiles. He also was 3/3 at the plate with two singles and a triple. His coach gave him the game ball.
