Nysje's and James' visit to Arizona

James, Adam's and Morgan's cousin from Utah came to Arizona for a week. We went to my brother-in-law Lee's Ranch. We rode horses, 4-wheelers (spent an hour getting one unstuck), played games and went swimming in 50 degree water. It was a lot of fun!

When I was in my early twenties, I use to go with Nysje to family reunions and wedding receptions when her husband Don couldn't go. She is about 6 years older than me, but everyone, including relatives would ask if we were married!
Don, Nysje's husband couldn't make the trip. This horse must have sensed she was lonely, because it wouldn't leave her alone. He would nibble on her neck and her ear. Nysje for her part seems to be enjoying it! Nysje took on the title of horse whisperer. She found the one horse that would not allow anyone to approach it, and she worked her magic until the horse let her stroke her face. Even the ranch hand was impressed! Joel

Swimming in January

Seth, Adam and Morgan went swimming with their cousin Ethan. One of the benefits of living in AZ is swimming in January. We have to rub it in a little to all of you who are living in the cold, because in July when it is 115 degrees, we have to rely on these memories to answer the question, "why are we living in Arizona?"

Me and My Shadow

Seth took a picture of his shadow. I am amazed at the things our children notice and what fascinates them. I can't remember the last time I took the time to notice my shadow.

Our Friend Ray

We were back in California for the Baptism of Audrey Carr, my niece. We returned to Torrance to attend our old ward. We met up with our good friend Ray Jackman. Ray had been baptized, but stopped attending church at the age of 12. We had a "Mr Kruger's Christmas" moment with Ray 3 years ago. He started attending church again, and recently went through the temple. He is dating a good "Mormon girl" and we are hopeful we'll be returning soon for a temple wedding!

A Bunny Hug

Morgan, Seth and Adam had a sleep over at their cousins house last night. Morgan was very tired, but did not want to take a nap. She finally found a relaxing place to fall asleep, in the embrace of a huge stuffed bunny given to her by her aunt Nysje.

Our Sick Little Dog

Lilly has been sick for the past month. At first they thought is was a bowel obstruction. Then they thought she had pneumonia. Finally, they discovered that she had Valley Fever, a fungal infection that is very dangerous and unfortunately very common here in AZ. She is on medications, but is not out of the woods yet. The kids pray every night for their little dog. Get better Lilly!!!!!

Princess Morgan

Morgan is part of the new hip princess generation. A little bit different than when we were little. She has Disney princess sunglasses, 2 rings, two bracelets, 2 necklaces, and of course her baby. Her dress is from Alice in Wonderland which she wears non-stop.
